Howard Stern's Hot Suit Settled

AUGUST 6--Howard Stern has settled his lawsuit against the producers of the ABC television show "Are You Hot?," which the shock jock has vehemently denounced as a brazen rip-off of a segment from his syndicated radio show. Terms of the Los Angeles Superior Court settlement were not detailed in a bare-bones dismissal notice filed yesterday by Martin Singer, Stern's lawyer. In March, Stern sued ABC, Telepictures, and producers Mike Fleiss and Scott Einziger for eight figures, claiming that the network reality program (which starred Lorenzo Lamas and Rachel Hunter) was nothing more than a copy of "The Evaluators," a radio bit involving judges who review a female contestant's, um, physical attributes. Along with Einziger, who once worked as executive producer of Stern's E! Entertainment Television series, "Are You Hot?" employed former Stern sidekick Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling as a consultant. In mid-April, one month after filing his original petition, Stern filed a dismissal notice indicating that he had withdrawn his complaint against ABC. (2 pages)
